Pre-Registration Required

Contest Feb 21-May 31, 2025
Videos: Below is a 1 minute video providing overview of contest and a 5 minute video presenting comments from past participants.

Landowners (and photographers) should register as soon as possible so that WIF can help put you in contact with a registered photographer. There is no need to wait until you know who your partner is. It is your choice of who you partner with so you can register now even if you have a partner in mind that has not yet registered. If for some reason a compatible photographer is not found for you as a landowner you can obtain a refund, but we have never had to provide a refund.

What is different about the Wildlife in Focus photo contests?

Our primary event is the Team Photo Contest – pairing a photographer with a private landowner.  For 2025 we have added a video contest See the rules document for full details.

The Team photo contest is unlike any other photo contests in that all photos are taken on participating private lands during the 100 day window of the contest.  This provides a unique opportunity for private landowners and photographers to get to know each other and work together as a team in this contest. It is also why advance registration is needed.

For a landowner you have the opportunity to see your own land through the lens of a photographer, to obtain a portfolio of up to 100 images that showcase the diversity of life on your land, all with the opportunity to win money.

As a consideration, to hire a photographer to come and provide you with a portfolio of wildlife images from your land would cost $1000’s of dollars with no chance of winning money.

The landowner agrees to provide access to your photographer team mate during the 100 day contest period. Please contact us with any specific questions.

We encourage all to participate, support conservation, and getting out to experience and explore wildlife, to share your experience with others and to create new relationships and friendships with others that enjoy wildlife.
